Dir
Dir is one of the foremost beautiful places in Pakistan. Its mountains, cultural heritage and development make it the most effective place for spending vacations. History of Dir
Dir is an ancient place and it contains a lot of places with tourist attraction and historical significance. These places include:

Although these places have their own historical significance but the most source historian’s and tourist’s attraction towards this place is that this place witnessed one of the most effective civilizations in the whole world i.e. Gandhara Civilization.

This place automatically contains the cultural heritage of the Gandhara Civilization and a lot of artifacts and architecture is preserved in this particular area. The Dir museum was constructed so as to save lots of and display the cultural heritage of Dir valley.

Even if one has no interest in history and is just a nature lover then one will witness the treasures of nature in the kind of beautiful mountains. this can be definitely the place to enjoy and relax at the same time. of these attributes together with the pleasant weather make it one among the most effective tourist resorts in the whole world.

The history of Dir dates back to 2nd millennium BC to times of the Aryans. Achamenians ruled this place after Aryans and were later followed by Alexander the great.

Ghandara Civilization came after Alexander. Then this place witnessed the rule of Yousafzai Pathans in the 5th century AD. Their rule was the start of social, political and economic reforms.

This family ruled over Dir for a few time and later started calling themselves Nawabs. Nawabs continued these reforms and have become immensely famous among the people of this area. In 1897, this place was captured by the Britishers. After the independence of Pakistan, Dir become a separate state but was later made the a part of Pakistan in 1960 AD.

Dir is split in to 2 parts

  • Upper Dir.
  • Lower Dir.

Dir Museum
If you visit the valley of Dir then you cannot miss the Dir Museum. it’s the potential of becoming the tourist attraction but unfortunately it hasn’t been promoted properly.

Dir Museum is one of the foremost important places and is situated in Chakdara. Its more famous by the name of Chakdara Museum.

There are three Sections in this Museum.

  • Buddha Section.
  • Book Section.
  • Ethnographical Section.

Buddha Section:
This Section contains a lot of statues of Buddha in numerous postures. a number of these statues are of him in meditation. Most of the artifacts and caskets represent his life events and miracles.

This museum can really be used to promote the religious tourism in Pakistan with regard to the faith of Buddhism. There are several caskets and artifacts that really represent a specific time period in his life.

    Taming of an elephant refers to the incident in which Buddha made an elephant calm and peaceful which was actually sent there to kill him. it’s represented by the image of the statue given below.

Further in the valley of Dir there’s atiny low picket on the top of hill. this is often Churchill picket. An interesting and important point is that the name of this picket springs from the name of the Sir Winston S. Churchill (a lieutenant).

Historical Significance of Churchill Picket
The historical significance of this particular place is related to the revoloution of 1879. The pathan revoloution became too fierce making solon helpless and forcing him to take refuge during this place so as to protect himself.

The whole area was surrounded by the Pathans which made it almost impossible for him to escape. He stayed there for one whole week and that’s why it’s named after him.

Timergara

If you will go further in the Dir then you’ll probably come across Timergara which is that the headquarter of Lower Dir. This place is extremely beautiful with warmth in winter and moderate temperature in the summers.

Just like the rest of the places in Dir, this place is an attraction for tourists from everywhere the globe because this place was occupied by the Aryans once, so this place naturally possses their cultural heritage.

Interesting point

History suggests that the people who wont to live here were Parsis i.e. they used to think that fire is their God.

Lowari Pass

Lowari Pass connects Dir to Chitral. Although there are several different routes to travel from one valley to the other valley but lots of individuals prefer to use this route for the transportation purposes.

There are two basic reasons for the popularity of this route and these are as follows:

  • It is shortest way.
  • It is the lowest way among all the other ways.

Dangers:

Despite the beauty of this place, there are some risks of travelling through Lowari Pass. it’s located at an area which is prone to avalanches which became the explanation for death of plenty of individuals. Although people still like better to use this route.

Chitral

Chitral Museum
One of the prime attractions of Chitral is its renowned museum which holds immense significance because of its rich heritage. The museum is located near the popular polo ground in Chitral. The museum holds artifacts and articles dating back 600 BC concerning the Aryan graves. Coupled with this, the museum also showcases unique heritage and culture of the Kalash Valley.

Chitral Fort
A major attraction in Chitral is its renowned fort whose history dates back to several decades. The location of the fort is within the main city. Since Chitral was a princely state and maintained this status till 1961, the Chitral Fort remained to be the formal abode of the princes of Chitral, who were commonly referred to as the Mehtars. The Fort hosts remarkable architecture and showcases the various wartime machinery which was used in wars ages ago.

Chitral Top
It is a mountain top, which connects Chitral to Dir. Chitral top is usually covered with snow from November till late May. Garam Chashma
The Hot Springs which are popularly known as Garam Chashma are a unique attraction. Located 45 km from the main Chitral city, the hot springs have been a major tourist attraction due to the natural healing powers. The water composition contains high concentrations of sulphur which aids in the healing of various skin diseases and other physical ailments such as headaches and joint pain. Roads leading to Garam Chashma are in considerably good conditions and it takes around 1.5 hours to reach.

Ayun Valley
Situated in the district of Chitral is valley of Ayun, which is surrounded by mountains and the beautiful Bumberet River, which is the sole lifeline to the entire village in terms of power generations and irrigation. The location of the valley is alongside the Chitral River which progresses towards the Lowari Pass. The first thing that strikes about the Ayun valley is its lush green environment which is a joyful sight for any traveler; secondly the locals of the valley are very hospitable and welcoming.

Kalash Valley
The Kalash Valley stands to be a unique selling proposition for the Chitral region. The value that this place incorporates revolves around not just the beauty of its serene valleys but also the culture and heritage of its people, known as the Kalasha. Where most of the world has become a global village, and cultures have evolved into a hybrid mix because of the penetration of media and technology at micro-levels of the society; the Kalasha are still bound to their centuries old traditions and customs.

The Kalash valley basically comprises of three main valleys; Biri, Bumburet and Rambur. Each of these valleys has their own villages and small towns, however all of the inhabitants follow the same traditions and customs.

Bumburet
The largest valley in the Kalash region is Bumburet.

Placed at a moderate distance of 20 kilometers from the Ayun village, Bumburet attracts a large number of tourists. In terms of accommodation tourists can make prior arrangement and booking at the PTDC motel which offers exceptional service and quality. Given the large size of the valley, it hosts 5 main villages which adjoin each other. These villages are:

  • Anish
  • Broun
  • Batrik
  • Kandisaar
  • Karakal

If travelers want to experience good trout fish, they can trek across from Karakal to Shaikdana where a trout hatchery has been made coupled with a beautiful mosque which has been crafted out of wood.

Rumbur
At a distance of 12 kilometers from the valley of Ayun, travelers can experience the beautiful valley of Rubmur, which is the 2nd largest after Bumburet. The altitudes of the valley go as high as 7203 feet above the sea level. The height of this valley provides tourists the opportunity to experience breathtaking views.

Birir
Located at a distance of 34 kilometers from Chitral is; Birir is another valley of the Kalash region. Although it is smallest of the 3 valleys and it placed at a height of 5476 feet above the sea level, it does fascinate the tourists just as much with its unique serenity.

Customs
For a traveler visiting the Kalash valley, it is imperative to understand the local customs in order to make the stay more convenient for everyone. It is expected that a person should offer water to everyone around him before he drinks it himself, therefore this should be kept in mind while sitting in a local gathering. Moreover it is a custom for the local people to stand up if they see an older person approaching, and then are expected to invite him to sit with them.

The Kalasha are very sensitive about their temples and altars, therefore their laws and customs should be respected by all. Females are not allowed to enter certain places of worship, therefore due diligence must be observed while visiting such places.

Festivals
The Kalash Valley is home to many festivals that the people celebrate each year, some the popular festivals are mentioned as follows with their expected dates:

Joshi – Soring celebrations (14th to 15th of May)
Chowas – New year celebrations (18th to 21st of December)
Nauroze – Customary celebration (21st March)
Jashn-e-Chitral – Main festival ( Dates are finalized every year officially)

Shandur Pass
Shandur pass is situated in Gilgit, Pakistan at a height of 12,200 feet. It connects Chitral to Gilgit. People usually travel there during summers, because that’s when it’s not difficult to cross it. Local people there speak the khowar language, and if wanted they even help tourists visit places, or climb the mountain. For climbing the mountain one needs to have proper clothing and perfect health. Because the height and altitude is very high, so one can get easily sick due to it. If it’s the first time you’re going there, than its better to go with someone who has already been there. The most famous aspect of shandur top is the polo match held there every year between the teams of Gilgit and other different regions. There is PTDC accommodation for people who would like to stay there. Other than that there is bed and breakfast in people’s homes.

Polo Festival
Polo festival and polo match is held every year at shandur top. Polo lovers along with their families go there especially to enjoy and play polo. A polo festival is held there every year in July, around the first week. There is folk music and dancing, and different foods. It’s one of the biggest and highest polo grounds in the world, with the height of 3700 meters. The history of Polo ground on the basis of which it was constructed on was that a British administrator named Cobb ordered a Pakistani named Niat Qabool to make a huge polo ground, on which to play. He soon made a huge polo ground for him, and the British administrator asked what he wanted in return? Niat asked for trout fishes, to be dropped in the river. So Cobb brought trout fishes from London and dropped them in the river. It’s because of him that there are so many fishes in the river. Hundrap Lake is full of trout fishes, and people go to that lake to get the fish and eat it.

Mastuj
It is a small village in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa, Pakistan. It is a total three hour travel from chitral to mastuj. The place is extremely beautiful; one can go for walks and even see Tirich Mir and its snowy peaks. Till 1880 Mastuj was the capital of khushwaqt state. Shahndur pass is another two to three hour drive from Mastuj. One of the historical artifacts of Mastuj is Mastuj Fort. Back in time it was used for both government and military purposes. Nowadays it’s in a very bad shape, because of so many earthquakes that they have destroyed the fort. Some parts of it still remain standing. People, who go to Mastuj, go there for picnics. There are tourist guest house in Mastuj, for people who want to stay. The hotels there aren’t seven star, they are medium type hotels. But the place is very beautiful, so it makes no difference. Staying there for a day in a medium type hotel is worth it. Women down there wear their traditional dresses, mainly frocks with hand embroidery on it. The food that they eat is very similar to the one eaten by people in Gilgit. People drink a lot of green tea and black tea here.

Drosh
It is another village in chitral. People down there speak their native language, Khowar. It is a very peaceful quiet village, many accommodations are available for those who wish to stay.

Tirch Mir
Tirch Mir is the tallest mountain of the Hindu kush range, and is the tallest mountain in the world after Himalayas. It is located in Khyber pakhtunkhwa region and the native language is khowar. The first person to climb this mountain was a Norwegian. After which many people have climbed the mountain. Tirch means shadow and Mir means king so Tirch Mir means king of darkness. People get sick because of its high altitude, it’s safer to go there with someone who has been there before unless one knows the area well.

Arandu border
The Arandu border is a border between Chitral and Afghanistan. Kabul River flows next to it, and it is an important crossing point. The road to the border is very bumpy and rough. It’s surrounded by a lot of robbers so it’s dangerous and people have to pay those robbers to ensure safe passage. Mostly trucks go on these roads with the supply of different things. There is a lot of drugs circulation in this area because of smuggling.

دیر کی تاریخ

اگرچہ ان مقامات کی اپنی ایک تاریخی اہمیت ہے لیکن اس مقام کی طرف تاریخ دان اور سیاحوں کی کشش کا سب سے بڑا ذریعہ یہ ہے کہ یہ جگہ پوری دنیا کی بہترین تہذیبوں میں سے ایک یعنی گندھارا تہذیب کا گواہ ہے۔ یہ جگہ خود بخود گندھارا تہذیب کے ثقافتی ورثے پر مشتمل ہے اور اس مخصوص علاقے میں بہت سے نمونے اور فن تعمیر محفوظ ہیں۔

دیر میوزیم کی تعمیر وادی دیر کے ثقافتی ورثے کو بچانے اور نمائش کے لیے کی گئی تھی۔

یہاں تک کہ اگر کسی کو تاریخ سے کوئی دلچسپی نہیں ہے اور وہ محض فطرت سے محبت کرنے والا ہے تو پھر بھی انسان خوبصورت پہاڑوں کی شکل میں قدرت کے خزانوں کا مشاہدہ کرے گا۔ یہ یقینی طور پر ایک ہی وقت میں لطف اندوز اور آرام کرنے کی جگہ ہے۔ خوشگوار موسم کے ساتھ یہ تمام خصوصیات اسے پوری دنیا کے بہترین سیاحتی مقامات میں سے ایک بناتی ہیں۔دیر کی تاریخ دوسری صدی قبل مسیح سے لے کر آریوں کے زمانے تک کی ہے۔ اچامینینز نے آریائیوں کے بعد اس جگہ پر حکومت کی اور بعد میں سکندر اعظم نے اس کی پیروی کی۔

گندارا تہذیب سکندر کے بعد آئی۔ پھر اس جگہ نے پانچویں صدی عیسوی میں یوسف زئی پٹھانوں کی حکمرانی دیکھی۔ ان کا دورِ حکومت سماجی، سیاسی اور معاشی اصلاحات کا آغاز تھا۔ اس خاندان نے کچھ عرصہ دیر پر حکومت کی اور بعد میں اپنے آپ کو نواب کہلانے لگا۔ نوابوں نے ان اصلاحات کو جاری رکھا اور اس علاقے کے لوگوں میں بہت مشہور ہوئے۔1897 میں اس جگہ پر انگریزوں نے قبضہ کر لیا۔ پاکستان کی آزادی کے بعد دیر ایک الگ ریاست بن گئی لیکن بعد میں اسے 1960ء میں پاکستان کا حصہ بنا دیا گیا۔

دیر میوزیم
اگر آپ وادی دیر کا دورہ کرتے ہیں تو آپ دیر میوزیم کو نہیں چھوڑ سکتے۔ اس میں سیاحوں کی توجہ کا مرکز بننے کی صلاحیت موجود ہے لیکن بدقسمتی سے اسے صحیح طریقے سے فروغ نہیں دیا گیا۔

دیر میوزیم سب سے اہم مقامات میں سے ایک ہے اور چکدرہ میں واقع ہے۔ یہ چکدرہ میوزیم کے نام سے زیادہ مشہور ہے۔اس میوزیم میں تین حصے ہیں۔

اس میوزیم کو واقعی پاکستان میں بدھ مت کے مذہب کے حوالے سے مذہبی سیاحت کو فروغ دینے کے لیے استعمال کیا جا سکتا ہے۔ کئی تابوتیں اور نمونے ہیں جو درحقیقت اس کی زندگی کے ایک خاص دور کی نمائندگی کرتے ہیں۔

ایک ہاتھی کو پکڑنے سے مراد وہ واقعہ ہے جس میں مہاتما بدھ نے ایک ہاتھی کو پرسکون اور پرامن بنایا تھا جسے دراصل اسے مارنے کے لیے وہاں بھیجا گیا تھا۔ اس کی نمائندگی نیچے دی گئی مجسمے کی تصویر سے ہوتی ہے۔

مزید دیر کی وادی میں پہاڑی کی چوٹی پر ایک چھوٹا سا ٹکڑا ہے۔ یہ چرچل پکیٹ ہے۔ ایک دلچسپ اور اہم بات یہ ہے کہ اس پکیٹ کا نام سر ونسٹن چرچل (ایک لیفٹیننٹ) کے نام سے لیا گیا ہے۔

چرچل پکیٹ کی تاریخی اہمیت
اس جگہ کی تاریخی اہمیت 1879 کے انقلاب سے وابستہ ہے۔ پٹھان انقلاب نے ونسٹن چرچل کو بے بس کر دیا اور اپنی حفاظت کے لیے اسے اس جگہ پناہ لینے پر مجبور کر دیا۔

پورا علاقہ پٹھانوں سے گھرا ہوا تھا جس کی وجہ سے اس کا فرار ہونا تقریباً ناممکن تھا۔ وہ پورا ایک ہفتہ وہاں رہے اور اسی لیے یہ ان کے نام پر رکھا گیا۔

تیمرگرہ

اگر آپ دیر میں جائیں گے تو آپ شاید تیمرگرہ سے ملیں گے جو لوئر دیر کا صدر مقام ہے۔ یہ جگہ سردیوں میں انتہائی درجہ حرارت اور گرمیوں میں معتدل درجہ حرارت کے ساتھ انتہائی خوبصورت ہے۔ دیر کے باقی مقامات کی طرح یہ جگہ بھی دنیا بھر کے سیاحوں کے لیے کشش کا باعث ہے کیونکہ اس جگہ پر کبھی آریاؤں کا قبضہ تھا، اس لیے یہ جگہ قدرتی طور پر ان کے ثقافتی ورثے کی حامل ہے۔

دلچسپ نکتہ

تاریخ بتاتی ہے کہ یہاں جو لوگ رہتے تھے وہ پارسی تھے یعنی آگ کو اپنا خدا سمجھتے تھے۔

لواری پاس

لواری پاس دیر کو چترال سے ملاتا ہے۔ اگرچہ ایک وادی سے دوسری وادی تک جانے کے لیے کئی مختلف راستے ہیں لیکن بہت سے لوگ نقل و حمل کے مقاصد کے لیے اس راستے کو استعمال کرنے کو ترجیح دیتے ہیں۔ اس راستے کی مقبولیت کی دو بنیادی وجوہات ہیں اور وہ درج ذیل ہیں۔

نمبر2:یہ دوسرے تمام طریقوں کے درمیان سب سے آسان طریقہ ہے۔

خطرات

اس جگہ کی خوبصورتی کے باوجود لواری پاس سے سفر کرنے میں کچھ خطرات ہیں۔ یہ ایک ایسی جگہ پر واقع ہے جہاں برفانی تودہ گرنے کا خطرہ ہے جو بہت سے لوگوں کی موت کا سبب بن چکا ہے۔ اگرچہ لوگ اب بھی اس راستے کو استعمال کرنے کو ترجیح دیتے ہیں۔

چترال

ہندوکش پہاڑی سلسلے کے اندر شاندار طور پر واقع، چترال ایک ایسی وادی ہے جو پاکستان کے کئی عجائبات میں سے ایک ہے۔ چترال میں نہ صرف سیاحتی مرکز کے طور پر اپنے آپ کو فروخت کرنے کی خوبصورتی ہے بلکہ یہ ایک بھرپور ثقافتی ورثہ بھی رکھتا ہے جو اس کی قدر میں اضافہ کرتا ہے۔ یہ مقام تاریخی تناظر میں ہمیشہ اہم رہا ہے کیونکہ بہت سے حملہ آور جنوب مشرقی ایشیا تک پہنچنے کے لیے اس سے گزرے تھے۔

چترال پرکشش مقامات کی ایک وسیع صف پیش کرتا ہے جس میں دنیا کی بلند ترین چوٹیوں میں سے ایک، سرسبز و شاداب وادیاں اور کئی گلیشیئرز شامل ہیں۔ چترال مزید دو سب ڈویژنوں میں تقسیم ہے۔ اپر اور لوئر چترال ان ڈویژنوں میں موسمی حالات کافی مختلف ہیں کیونکہ بالائی چترال زیریں چترال کے خشک موسمی حالات کے برعکس الپائن جیسی آب و ہوا فراہم کرتا ہے۔

رسائی
سیاح مختلف راستوں سے چترال پہنچ سکتے ہیں، تاہم سردیوں کے موسم میں سخت موسمی حالات کی وجہ سے آپشنز محدود ہیں۔ سردیوں کا موسم دسمبر سے شروع ہوتا ہے اور اپریل میں ختم ہوتا ہے، اس دوران شندور اور لواری دونوں راستے بند رہنے کی وجہ سے چترال سڑک کے ذریعے قابل رسائی نہیں ہے۔ ہوائی سفر ایک اور آپشن ہے جو دستیاب ہے تاہم یہ موجودہ موسمی حالات پر منحصر ہے۔

رہائش
رہائش ایک اہم عنصر ہے جو سیاحت کی فزیبلٹی کا تعین کرتا ہے۔ کوئی بھی سیاح جو چترال کا دورہ کرنا چاہتا ہے اس کا استقبال پرتپاک رہائش کے ساتھ کیا جائے گا جو کہ اقتصادی اور صاف ستھرے بھی ہوں گے۔ سب سے مشہور رہائش گاہیں مختصر وضاحت کے ساتھ درج ذیل ہیں

پی ٹی ڈی سی موٹل: مرکزی شہر میں واقع، یہ سیاحوں کے قیام کے لیے بہترین جگہ ہے۔ سروس کا معیار غیر معمولی ہے اور سہولیات میں وائی فائی اور دیگر ضروری چیزیں شامل ہیں۔
ماؤنٹین ویو ہل: ہوٹل مرکزی شاہی بازار میں واقع ہے۔ قیمتیں بہت سستی ہیں تاہم کمروں کی صفائی پر کوئی سمجھوتہ نہیں کیا جاتا۔ کئی دوسرے ہوٹل جو کافی چھوٹے ہیں مرکزی بازار کے ساتھ پی ٹی ڈی سی موٹل کے متوازی واقع ہیں۔

گلیشیئرز
چترال میں گلیشیئرز کی ایک بڑی تعداد موجود ہے جو ٹریکروں کو تلاش کرنے اور ایڈونچر کی ضرورت کو پورا کرنے کا بہترین موقع فراہم کرتے ہیں۔ کچھ مشہور گلیشیرز کا تذکرہ جدول میں ان کی لمبائی کے ساتھ درج ذیل ہے

چترال میوزیم
چترال کے پرکشش مقامات میں سے ایک اس کا معروف میوزیم ہے جو اپنے بھرپور ورثے کی وجہ سے بہت اہمیت رکھتا ہے۔ میوزیم چترال کے مشہور پولو گراؤنڈ کے قریب واقع ہے۔ میوزیم میں آریائی قبروں سے متعلق 600 قبل مسیح کے نوادرات اور مضامین موجود ہیں۔ اس کے ساتھ مل کر، میوزیم وادی کالاش کے منفرد ورثے اور ثقافت کو بھی پیش کرتا ہے۔

چترال قلعہ
چترال کی ایک بڑی توجہ اس کا مشہور قلعہ ہے جس کی تاریخ کئی دہائیوں پرانی ہے۔ قلعہ کا مقام مرکزی شہر کے اندر ہے۔ چترال چونکہ ایک شاہی ریاست تھی اور اس نے 1961 تک اس حیثیت کو برقرار رکھا، اس لیے چترال کا قلعہ چترال کے شہزادوں کا باقاعدہ ٹھکانہ رہا، جنہیں عام طور پر مہتر کہا جاتا تھا۔ یہ قلعہ شاندار فن تعمیر کی میزبانی کرتا ہے اور جنگ کے وقت کی مختلف مشینری کی نمائش کرتا ہے جو کئی سال پہلے جنگوں میں استعمال ہوتی تھیں۔

چترال ٹاپ
یہ ایک پہاڑی چوٹی ہے، جو چترال کو دیر سے ملاتی ہے۔ چترال کی چوٹی عموماً نومبر سے مئی کے آخر تک برف سے ڈھکی رہتی ہے۔ بہت زیادہ برف کی وجہ سے لوگ اپنی گاڑیوں پر وہاں نہیں جا سکتے، اس لیے انہیں پیدل جانا چاہیے۔ سردیوں میں برف کی وجہ سے چوٹی پر چڑھنے کے لیے کافی خطرناک ہوتا ہے۔ لوگوں کو وہاں جانے کے لیے گرمیوں تک انتظار کرنا چاہیے، اور قدرتی حسن سے لطف اندوز ہونا چاہیے۔ یہ چترال جانے کے لیے چار بڑے راستوں میں سے ایک ہے اور یہ دوسرے مقامات کی طرف بھی جاتا ہے۔

شاہی مسجد
چترال میں تاریخ کا ایک اور عجوبہ شاہی مسجد ہے۔ عمارت کا فن تعمیر چترال کے مضبوط اور بھرپور ورثے کی تصویر کشی کرتا ہے۔ یہ مسجد چترال کے مہتر نے 1924ء میں تعمیر کروائی تھی۔

گرم چشمہ
گرم چشمہ جو گرم چشمہ کے نام سے مشہور ہے ایک منفرد کشش ہے۔ چترال کے مرکزی شہر سے 45 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر واقع گرم چشمے قدرتی شفا بخش قوتوں کی وجہ سے سیاحوں کی توجہ کا مرکز رہے ہیں۔ پانی کی ترکیب میں گندھک کی زیادہ مقدار پائی جاتی ہے جو جلد کی مختلف بیماریوں اور دیگر جسمانی بیماریوں جیسے سر درد اور جوڑوں کے درد کو دور کرنے میں معاون ہے۔ گرم چشمہ کی طرف جانے والی سڑکیں کافی اچھی حالت میں ہیں اور وہاں پہنچنے میں تقریباً 1.5 گھنٹے لگتے ہیں۔

وادی ایون
چترال کے ضلع میں واقع وادی ایون ہے، جو پہاڑوں اور خوبصورت دریا سے گھری ہوئی ہے، جو کہ بجلی کی پیداوار اور آبپاشی کے لحاظ سے پورے گاؤں کی واحد لائف لائن ہے۔ وادی کا مقام دریائے چترال کے ساتھ ہے جو لواری پاس کی طرف بڑھتا ہے۔ وادی ایون کے بارے میں سب سے پہلی چیز اس کا سرسبز و شاداب ماحول ہے جو کسی بھی مسافر کے لیے ایک خوشگوار نظارہ ہے۔ دوسری بات یہ کہ وادی کے مقامی لوگ بہت مہمان نواز اور خوش آئند ہیں۔

کالاش ویلی
وادی کالاش چترال کے علاقے کے لیے ایک منفرد فروخت کی تجویز ہے۔ یہ جگہ جس قدر کو شامل کرتی ہے وہ نہ صرف اس کی پُرسکون وادیوں کی خوبصورتی کے گرد گھومتی ہے بلکہ اس کے لوگوں کی ثقافت اور ورثے کے گرد بھی گھومتی ہے، جسے کالاشہ کہا جاتا ہے۔ جہاں زیادہ تر دنیا ایک گلوبل ولیج بن چکی ہے، اور معاشرے کی مائیکرو سطحوں پر میڈیا اور ٹیکنالوجی کے دخول کی وجہ سے ثقافتیں ایک ہائبرڈ مرکب میں تبدیل ہو چکی ہیں۔ کیلاشا آج بھی اپنی صدیوں پرانی روایات اور رسم و رواج کے پابند ہیں۔

کالاش وادی بنیادی طور پر تین اہم وادیوں پر مشتمل ہے۔ بیری، بمبوریت اور رمبور۔ ان وادیوں میں سے ہر ایک کے اپنے گاؤں اور چھوٹے شہر ہیں، تاہم تمام باشندے ایک ہی روایات اور رسم و رواج کی پیروی کرتے ہیں۔

بمبوریٹ
کالاش خطے کی سب سے بڑی وادی بمبوریت ہے۔

ایون گاؤں سے 20 کلومیٹر کے درمیانے فاصلے پر واقع، بمبورٹ سیاحوں کی ایک بڑی تعداد کو اپنی طرف متوجہ کرتا ہے۔ رہائش کے لحاظ سے سیاح پی ٹی ڈی سی موٹل میں پیشگی انتظامات اور بکنگ کر سکتے ہیں جو غیر معمولی سروس اور معیار پیش کرتا ہے۔ وادی کے بڑے سائز کو دیکھتے ہوئے، اس میں 5 اہم گاؤں ہیں جو ایک دوسرے سے ملحق ہیں۔ یہ دیہات ہیں

اگر مسافر اچھی ٹراؤٹ مچھلی کا تجربہ کرنا چاہتے ہیں تو وہ قراقل سے شیک دانہ تک پیدل سفر کر سکتے ہیں جہاں ایک ٹراؤٹ ہیچری کے ساتھ ایک خوبصورت مسجد بنائی گئی ہے جسے لکڑی سے تیار کیا گیا ہے۔

رمبر
وادی ایون سے 12 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر، مسافر روبمر کی خوبصورت وادی کا تجربہ کر سکتے ہیں، جو بمبورٹ کے بعد دوسری بڑی وادی ہے۔ وادی کی اونچائی سطح سمندر سے 7203 فٹ تک بلند ہے۔ اس وادی کی بلندی سیاحوں کو دلکش نظاروں کا تجربہ کرنے کا موقع فراہم کرتی ہے۔

بیریر
چترال سے 34 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر واقع ہے۔ بیریر کالاش خطے کی ایک اور وادی ہے۔ اگرچہ یہ 3 وادیوں میں سب سے چھوٹی ہے اور یہ سطح سمندر سے 5476 فٹ کی بلندی پر واقع ہے، لیکن یہ سیاحوں کو اپنے منفرد سکون سے اتنا ہی مسحور کرتی ہے۔

کسٹم
کالاش وادی کا دورہ کرنے والے مسافر کے لیے مقامی رسم و رواج کو سمجھنا ضروری ہے تاکہ قیام کو ہر ایک کے لیے آسان بنایا جا سکے۔ یہ توقع کی جاتی ہے کہ آدمی اپنے اردگرد موجود ہر شخص کو پانی پلائے اس سے پہلے کہ وہ خود اسے پی لے، اس لیے مقامی مجلس میں بیٹھتے وقت اس کا خیال رکھنا چاہیے۔ مزید یہ کہ مقامی لوگوں کے لیے یہ رواج ہے کہ اگر وہ کسی بوڑھے کو قریب آتے دیکھ کر کھڑے ہو جاتے ہیں اور پھر ان سے توقع کی جاتی ہے کہ وہ اسے اپنے ساتھ بیٹھنے کی دعوت دیں گے۔

کیلاشا اپنے مندروں اور قربان گاہوں کے بارے میں بہت حساس ہیں، اس لیے ان کے قوانین اور رسم و رواج کا سب کو احترام کرنا چاہیے۔ خواتین کو مخصوص عبادت گاہوں میں داخل ہونے کی اجازت نہیں ہے، اس لیے ایسی جگہوں کا دورہ کرتے وقت احتیاط برتنی چاہیے۔

تہوار
وادی کالاش بہت سے تہواروں کا گھر ہے جو لوگ ہر سال مناتے ہیں، کچھ مشہور تہواروں کا ذکر ان کی متوقع تاریخوں کے ساتھ درج ذیل ہے

جوشی – سورنگ کی تقریبات (14 سے 15 مئی)
چوس – نئے سال کی تقریبات (18 سے 21 دسمبر)
نوروز – روایتی جشن (21 مارچ)
جشنِ چترال – مرکزی تہوار (تاریخیں ہر سال باضابطہ طور پر طے کی جاتی ہیں)

شندور پاس
شندور پاس گلگت، پاکستان میں 12,200 فٹ کی بلندی پر واقع ہے۔ یہ چترال کو گلگت سے ملاتا ہے۔ لوگ عام طور پر گرمیوں میں وہاں سفر کرتے ہیں، کیونکہ اس وقت اسے عبور کرنا مشکل نہیں ہوتا ہے۔ وہاں کے مقامی لوگ کھوار زبان بولتے ہیں، اور اگر چاہیں تو وہ سیاحوں کو مقامات کا دورہ کرنے، یا پہاڑ پر چڑھنے میں بھی مدد کرتے ہیں۔ پہاڑ پر چڑھنے کے لیے مناسب لباس اور بہترین صحت کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے۔ کیونکہ اونچائی اور اونچائی بہت زیادہ ہے، لہذا اس کی وجہ سے کوئی آسانی سے بیمار ہوسکتا ہے. اگر آپ وہاں پہلی بار جا رہے ہیں تو اس سے بہتر ہے کہ آپ کسی ایسے شخص کے ساتھ جائیں جو پہلے ہی وہاں جا چکا ہو۔ شندور ٹاپ کا سب سے مشہور پہلو وہاں ہر سال گلگت اور دیگر مختلف علاقوں کی ٹیموں کے درمیان منعقد ہونے والا پولو میچ ہے۔ پی ٹی ڈی سی میں ان لوگوں کے لیے رہائش ہے جو وہاں رہنا چاہتے ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ لوگوں کے گھروں میں بستر اور ناشتہ ہے۔

پولو فیسٹیول
پولو فیسٹیول اور پولو میچ ہر سال شندور کی چوٹی پر ہوتا ہے۔ پولو سے محبت کرنے والے اپنے اہل خانہ کے ساتھ وہاں خاص طور پر لطف اندوز ہونے اور پولو کھیلنے جاتے ہیں۔ وہاں ہر سال جولائی کے پہلے ہفتے میں پولو فیسٹیول کا انعقاد کیا جاتا ہے۔ لوک موسیقی اور رقص، اور مختلف کھانے ہیں. یہ دنیا کے سب سے بڑے اور بلند ترین پولو گراؤنڈز میں سے ایک ہے، جس کی اونچائی 3700 میٹر ہے۔ پولو گراؤنڈ جس بنیاد پر بنایا گیا اس کی تاریخ یہ ہے کہ کوب نامی ایک برطانوی منتظم نے نیات قابو نامی پاکستانی کو ایک بہت بڑا پولو گراؤنڈ بنانے کا حکم دیا، جس پر کھیلا جائے۔ اس نے جلد ہی اس کے لیے ایک بہت بڑا پولو گراؤنڈ بنایا اور برطانوی منتظم نے پوچھا کہ اس کے بدلے میں کیا چاہتا ہوں؟ نیات نے ٹراؤٹ مچھلیوں کو دریا میں گرانے کے لیے کہا۔ چنانچہ کوب لندن سے ٹراؤٹ مچھلیاں لا کر دریا میں گرا دیا۔ اس کی وجہ سے دریا میں بہت سی مچھلیاں ہیں۔ ہنڈراپ جھیل ٹراؤٹ مچھلیوں سے بھری ہوئی ہے، اور لوگ اس جھیل میں مچھلیاں لینے جاتے ہیں اور اسے کھاتے ہیں۔

مستوج
یہ خیبر پختونخواہ، پاکستان کا ایک چھوٹا سا گاؤں ہے۔ چترال سے مستوج تک کل تین گھنٹے کا سفر ہے۔ جگہ انتہائی خوبصورت ہے؛ کوئی سیر کے لیے جا سکتا ہے اور یہاں تک کہ ترچ میر اور اس کی برفیلی چوٹیوں کو بھی دیکھ سکتا ہے۔ 1880 تک مستوج ریاست خشوق کا دارالحکومت تھا۔ شاہندور پاس مستوج سے دو سے تین گھنٹے کی مسافت پر ہے۔ مستوج کے تاریخی نمونوں میں سے ایک قلعہ مستوج ہے۔ وقت میں اسے حکومتی اور فوجی دونوں مقاصد کے لیے استعمال کیا جاتا تھا۔ آج کل یہ بہت خراب حالت میں ہے، اتنے زلزلوں کی وجہ سے کہ انہوں نے قلعہ کو تباہ کر دیا ہے۔ اس کے کچھ حصے اب بھی کھڑے ہیں۔ مستوج جانے والے لوگ وہاں پکنک منانے جاتے ہیں۔ مستوج میں سیاحوں کے گیسٹ ہاؤس ہیں، ان لوگوں کے لیے جو ٹھہرنا چاہتے ہیں۔ وہاں کے ہوٹل سات ستارہ نہیں ہیں، وہ درمیانے درجے کے ہوٹل ہیں۔ لیکن جگہ بہت خوبصورت ہے اس لیے اس سے کوئی فرق نہیں پڑتا۔ ایک درمیانے قسم کے ہوٹل میں ایک دن کے لیے وہاں ٹھہرنا اس کے قابل ہے۔ وہاں کی خواتین اپنے روایتی لباس زیب تن کرتی ہیں، بنیادی طور پر فراکس جس پر ہاتھ کی کڑھائی ہوتی ہے۔ وہ جو کھانا کھاتے ہیں وہ گلگت کے لوگوں کے کھانے سے بہت ملتا جلتا ہے۔ یہاں لوگ سبز چائے اور کالی چائے بہت پیتے ہیں۔

دروش
یہ چترال کا ایک اور گاؤں ہے۔ وہاں کے لوگ اپنی مادری زبان کھوار بولتے ہیں۔ یہ ایک بہت ہی پُرسکون گاؤں ہے، جو لوگ رہنا چاہتے ہیں ان کے لیے بہت سی رہائشیں دستیاب ہیں۔

ترچھ میر
ترچ میر ہندوکش سلسلے کا سب سے اونچا پہاڑ ہے، اور سب سے اونچا مو ہے۔

ارندو بارڈر
ارندو بارڈر چترال اور افغانستان کے درمیان ایک بارڈر ہے۔ دریائے کابل اس کے ساتھ ہی بہتا ہے، اور یہ ایک اہم کراسنگ پوائنٹ ہے۔ سرحد تک سڑک بہت کچی اور کچی ہے۔ یہ بہت سے ڈاکوؤں سے گھرا ہوا ہے لہذا یہ خطرناک ہے اور لوگوں کو محفوظ راستہ یقینی بنانے کے لیے ان ڈاکوؤں کو ادائیگی کرنی پڑتی ہے۔ ان سڑکوں پر زیادہ تر ٹرک مختلف چیزیں لے کر جاتے ہیں۔ اسمگلنگ کی وجہ سے اس علاقے میں منشیات کی بہتات ہے۔
