Places around Gilgit

1-Karimabad

It is 112 Km from Gilgit. By jeep, it takes 3hrs drive to Gilgit. Karimabad is the capital of the beautiful Hunza valley having terraced fields, fruit orchards, panoramic views of Rakaposhi, Ultar, and Balimo peaks, etc.

2-Nagar

Nagar has located 120 km from Gilgit and is accessible by jeep in 4 hours. This is the most fertile valley in the Gilgit region. It is famous for its splendid beauty, abundance of fruits, and charming views of Rakaposhi and other wonderful peaks of the Karakoram Range.

3-Ramo

Chinese Graveyard

History:

In August 2011, a Chinese delegation comprising of retired People’s Liberation Army soldiers, reporters, and a relative of a worker visited the cemetery to pay tribute to the dead workers. The visit was widely exposed in the Chinese media.

In April 2013, a ceremony was held at the graveyard, which was attended by key Pakistani and Chinese officers including the consular of the Chinese embassy Zhang Lianyou, officials of the China Road and Bridge Corporation, members of the Gilgit–Baltistan judicial assembly, and Pakistani law enforcement staff. During the ceremony, tributes were paid to the buried and an initiative was taken on behalf of the Chinese government for a renewal of the cemetery. Pakistani officials present at the event praised the contributions of the Chinese workers as a sign of the old China–Pakistan two-sided relationship.

At the event held in the cemetery, Zhang Lianyou, and Gilgit Baltistan Assembly Speaker Wazir Baig set the foundation stone for a new cemetery that the Chinese officials to be worth the sacrifice rendered by their workers. Both officials also put flowers on the graves of Chinese workers.

Location and Distance

The Chinese cemetery locally famous as China Yadgar is a Chinese graveyard that is situated in Gilgit, the capital city of the Gilgit–Baltistan region in northern Pakistan. It is situated in the village of Danyor in Gilgit District which is approximately 10 kilometers across the Gilgit River; this cemetery is the final resting place of Chinese workers and engineers who died during the construction of the Karakoram Highway in Pakistan in the 1960s and 1970s. This graveyard was formed in the early 1970s. The tombstones placed over the graves contain epitaph engravings in Chinese fonts.

Naltar

Naltar valley is situated near Gilgit and Hunza in the Gilgit–Baltistan. It is 40 km away from Gilgit and is accessible by jeeps in 2hrs. Naltar is a forested village popular for its wildlife and splendid mountain scenery. There are ski lifts under the ‘Ski Federation of Pakistan’. The road along the village to the lake is nonmetallic and narrow alongside a stream throughout this road coming from the mountains. A lot of beautiful scenes are there along this road.”

GHIZER DISTRICT

“Ghizer District covers the northernmost part of Northern Areas of Pakistan. The capital of Ghizer District is a small town named Gakuch. Ghizer District connects Gilgit and Chitral District via Shandur pass. Ghizer is the doorway to Central Asia and also the short way to Tajikistan. Ghizer has a remarkable picturesque beauty. Kargah Nalla

About 6 miles away from Gilgit, along the Punial road, runs an ancient Nala known as Kargah Nala. Kargah Nala is famous for its crystal clear water that runs all year and its serene beauty. In this valley is a beautiful rock engraved design of Buddha which is the main and very much famous attraction of this area. This rock carving is believed to be carved around the 7th century A.D. and was discovered by locals in the year 1938-1939. The native folk tales about this Buddha tell that an aggressor named Yakhsni was devoured by a man who lived in Kargah Nala.

Gilgit River

Gilgit River is the offshoot of the River Indus. Gilgit River is located in the Northern Areas of disputed Kashmir, Pakistan.

The source of the Gilgit River is the Shandur pass in the west of Gilgit. From that point, the water flows to the north with different other streams joining in and taking the shape of the river near Chhashi. The river then joins the Ishkuman River on the southeast side of Gilgit near Gupis. The river then flows towards the south where it passes through Chitarkhand and joins the river Ghizer near Gahkuch. Gakuch is surrounded by mountains and greenery that add to its beauty. People usually speak Khowar in Gakuch. Gilgit River runs through the middle of the city. In the west of Gilgit, about 112 km is located a small undersized town known as Gupis on the bank of Gilgit River. From Gakuch, Gupis is just 40 km away. Gupis valley is renowned for its remarkable natural beauty. All the way from Gakuch to Gupis, the valley is full of spectacular landscapes and breathtaking sights. There are many well-known tourist points in Gupis valley such as Gupis fort, stones circles of megaliths, Shingalote village, Khalti Lake, etc. In Gupis, one can see lots of maize and fruits, especially apples growing in the valley.

Gupis Fort

Gupis valley is famous not only for its natural beauty but also because of the historical structures present there. One of them is the famous Gupis Fort. Gupis fort was built by the British Empire in the year 1805. There are a few dark cells built in the fort where the British officers used to drop their prisoners as a punishment. Currently, the fort is in the custody of the Northern Light Infantry (NLI). At present, the fort is in very poor condition and needs to be restored.

Stones of Megaliths

Nearby Gupis valley quite a few stones of megaliths stood still in a good state. It is said that these megaliths were raised in the 2nd millennium and are situated in different areas of Gupis and Ishkuman valley.

Khalti Lake

About 20-30 minutes drive from the Gupis has situated a beautiful lake known as Khalti lake. Khalti Lake was formed as a result of a major flood caused by the burst of mountains as the glacier retreated, about 25 years ago. Khalti Lake is well-known for being the habitat of trout fish.

Khalti Lake generally freezes during the winter. Villagers, during winters, walk on the frozen lake and also sometimes play different games on the frozen lake.

In the small settlement of Gupis is located a well-equipped hotel with comfy rooms known as Gupis PTDC. Gupis PTDC is in fact built on an ice-cold moraine ridge outside the Gupis Village. Because of its wonderful site, Gupis PTDC presents a very good view of the flowing Gilgit River valley in the east as well as the beautiful Lake present in the west.

Phandar Valley

Phandar valley is one of the most attractive and prominent places in Ghizer District. Phandar valley is famous for its most picturesque valley, deep blue lake, and River Ghizer that flows through the village. Phandar valley is also normally called “Little Kashmir” because of the lush green wide fields, a river that flows across the village, and breathtaking scenery. Phandar valley is almost 61 km away from the valley of Gupis and about 163 km from Gilgit city.

The most attractive tourist spot in Phandar valley is the magnificent Phandar Lake. The deep blue lake at the eastern end of the valley with crystal clear water, greenery, trees, and rocky as well as snow-capped mountains offers a marvelous view that makes one adore nature in its most original form. In short Phandar Lake is full of all colors. The total area of the lake is about 3 Km.

The local people of Phandar valley are by nature very generous, simple, and welcoming. The language spoken by the villagers is Khowar. In Phandar Phandar Khass, Gulagmauli and Hundarap valleys are also present and are known to be the widest valley in the North. Also, Phandar valley is very much famous for trout fishing along the Gilgit River.

A number of PTDC Motel and rest houses are located in the valley to facilitate tourists. However, among these motels, Shundoor guest house and Wali hotel are the most popular hotels in that region.

Hundarap valley

In the west of Phandar valley lies a small yet beautiful valley called Hundarap valley. Hundarap valley lies between the Hundarap River and Shandur River. Hundarap valley is also famous for its lake and is also known as Paradise for trout fishing. Hundarap valley is about 190 km away from Gilgit and about 118 km from Gakuch. Its elevation is 10800 ft. Hundarap lake can be reached by trekking the south from the Dadarilli pass.”

Yasin Valley

The Yasin valley also known as “Babaye-i-Yaseen” or “Worshigum” lies in the northwest of Ghizer District in Gilgit-Baltistan. Apart from the main Yasin valley, it also takes account of quite a few other side valleys namely Thaus, Hundur, Asumber, Sandhi, Darkut, etc.

Yasin valley also presents a remarkable scenic view and is one of the most impressive valleys in Ghizer District. Yasin valley lies about 161 km from Gilgit and about 62 km from Gakuch. Yasin valley is comparatively dry and stony at the entrance but once you reach a settlement at Damalgan and Gindai you can see greenery. The local people of the valley are referred to as Yashkuns and they also call themselves Burusho. The majority of them are Ismaili Muslims who speak Burushaski. Shandur top, situated at an elevation of about 38000 meters (12,500 ft.) above sea level is also known as the Roof of the World. Shandur top is located in the Ghizer District, Pakistan. It is about 197 km away from Gilgit and from Chitral, it is about 147 km away. The course to Shandur Top is a rocky and at times risky jeep track leading into mountains. It eventually crosses the Shandur pass before making its way to Chitral.

Shandur Top is a flat gradual inclined plateau that connects Gilgit with Chitral.

Shandur basically is famed for having one of the highest polo grounds in the world. Every year, many visitors from across the country visit Shandur to enjoy the traditional polo tournament held every year from the 7th till the 9th of July since 1936. The tournament is usually held between the teams of Chitral and Gilgit. The freestyle version of polo played at Shandur Top now has achieved legendary status and attracts a great number of domestic and international adventure-loving tourists. Despite the fact that PTDC and other companies related to tourism establish tent villages during the event, tourists still prefer to bring their own camping stuff.

During winters, the road is closed because of the snow and only the experienced ones are able to cross the area by foot. The people here are resilient yet very generous in nature and treat all the visitors with great hospitality.

Shandur Top is accessible from Chitral as well as Gilgit. The route is only driven by 4WD jeeps.

گرمیوں کے موسم میں وادی استور میں درجہ حرارت بہت زیادہ نہیں ہوتا ہے اور وادی میں معتدل آب و ہوا ہے۔ جبکہ وادی میں شدید برف باری کے ساتھ سردیاں بہت سرد ہوتی ہیں۔ وادیوں میں برف باری چوٹیوں پر ہونے والی برف باری کے مقابلے میں کم ہے۔ وادی استور میں برف کی سطح 6 انچ تک اور اونچے پہاڑوں پر دو سے تین فٹ تک ہوسکتی ہے۔ دسمبر اور جنوری کے مہینوں میں عموماً برف باری ہوتی ہے۔

استور کے علاقے میں سب سے زیادہ استعمال ہونے والی زبان شینا ہے جو مختلف بولیوں میں بولی جاتی ہے۔ اردو کو پاکستان کی قومی زبان کے طور پر زیادہ تر لوگ بولتے اور سمجھتے ہیں۔ مزید برآں، کچھ لوگ (جیسے پولیس افسران یا مقامی گائیڈ) بھی انگریزی بول اور سمجھ سکتے ہیں کیونکہ اس جگہ پر اکثر غیر ملکی آتے ہیں۔

وادی استور کی خصوصیات

استور نانگا پربت کی بنیاد کے قریب واقع ہے۔ راما جھیل اور پی ٹی ڈی سی ہوٹل بھی وادی استور کے قریب واقع ہے اور سیاحوں کے لیے پرکشش مقامات ہیں۔ وادی استور مخصوص خصوصیات اور انفرادیت کے ساتھ ایک خوبصورت جگہ ہے جو سیاحوں اور سیاحوں کو اپنی طرف متوجہ کرتی ہے۔ وادی کے چاروں طرف ہمالیہ کے پہاڑ ہیں۔ وادی کے قریب ایک چھوٹا سا گاؤں لوز بھی واقع ہے، جو اچھے معیار کے پھلوں جیسے خوبانی، سیب اور بہت سے دوسرے کے لیے مشہور ہے۔ وادی استور دریائے سندھ کی وادی سے نکلتی ہے۔ سب سے آسان راستہ جو وادی استور کی طرف جاتا ہے وہ گوری کوٹ، گودائی، چلم اور پھر تھوڑا سا کھڑا ٹریک ہے جو آخر کار ہمیں وادی تک لے جاتا ہے۔

راما جھیل

راما جھیل پاکستان کی خوبصورت ترین جھیلوں میں سے ایک ہے اور یہ پاکستان کے شمالی علاقوں میں وادی استور سے نو کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر واقع ہے۔ یہ نانگا پربت کے مشرق کی طرف واقع ہے۔ جھیل بلوط کے درختوں اور الپائن کے جنگلات سے گھری ہوئی ہے۔

وادی راما

وادی راما گھنے جنگلات سے گھری ہوئی ہے جس میں دیودار، دیودار، فر اور جونیپر کے درخت شامل ہیں۔ یہ وادی سطح سمندر سے تقریباً 3300 میٹر کی بلندی پر ہے اور زیادہ تر سال کے 7-8 مہینے برف سے ڈھکی رہتی ہے۔ گرمیوں کے موسم میں وادی سرسبز و شاداب ہو جاتی ہے۔

جھیل راما کے آس پاس کے علاقے سیاحوں کے لیے پیدل سفر اور ٹریکنگ کے مقاصد کے لیے ایک اہم سیاحتی مقام ہیں۔ یہ زائرین کے لیے کیمپنگ سائٹ ہے کیونکہ یہاں سے زائرین آسانی سے نانگا پربت کے مشرقی جانب جا سکتے ہیں۔ پیدل سفر کے لیے بہت سارے راستے ہیں اور کچھ راستے جیپ سفاری کے لیے بہترین ہیں۔

پی ٹی ڈی سی موٹل

ایک نیا موٹل جو پی ٹی ڈی سی کی طرف سے تعمیر کیا گیا ہے، راما جھیل کی پیش کش کی قیمت میں اضافہ ہے۔ موٹل سیاحوں کے لیے ایک بڑی توجہ کا مرکز بن گیا ہے اور اچھے معیار کی خدمات فراہم کرتا ہے۔ قیمتیں عام طور پر زیادہ ہوتی ہیں لیکن ڈسکاؤنٹ آفرز سے بھی فائدہ اٹھایا جا سکتا ہے۔ یہ موٹل ان سیاحوں کے لیے بیس کیمپ کے طور پر کام کرتا ہے جو نانگا پربت پر پیدل سفر اور ٹریکنگ کے لیے جانا چاہتے ہیں۔

تاریخ

تاریخی طور پر جگلوٹ اسٹریٹجک اہمیت کا حامل تھا کیونکہ یہ اس راستے کے ساتھ پڑا تھا جو برطانوی ہندوستان کو کشمیر کے راستے چین سے ملاتا تھا۔ کشمیر کے سکھ مہاراجہ سے کشمیر کی آزادی کی جنگ اور جدوجہد جگلوٹ سے شروع ہوئی۔

جگلوٹ پاک فوج کا سب سے اہم لاجسٹک بیس ہے۔ جگلوٹ کو اپنی اہمیت 1984 کی سیاچن کی جنگ سے ملی۔ جگلوٹ میں کافی ترقی فوج کی موجودگی کی وجہ سے ہوئی ہے۔

چاکرکوٹ

اسے زاروت، سبیل، شمروٹے اور جگوت کے نام سے بھی جانا جاتا ہے۔

گاشو پاہوتے

یہ جانوروں کے چرنے کے لیے وسیع میدان ہے اور اس میں جڑواں دریاؤں میں ٹراؤٹ کا ذخیرہ بھی موجود ہے۔

مانوٹ

مانوٹ واحد گاؤں ہے جس میں یشکنوں کی اکثریت ہے، جو کہ ایک نسلی گروہ ہے۔

جگلوٹ فارم

مخصوص اسٹاپ سے 5 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ایک مخصوص سڑک ہے جو جگلوٹ فارم کے نام سے ایک چھوٹی سی بستی کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے چلتی ہے، جس کے نیچے سے نیچے، خاص چمکتے، مختلف سمندر بشمول دریائے گلگت بلیک آف وائٹ بو کو جوڑتا ہے جس میں سندھ شامل ہے۔

گلگت بلتستان پاکستان کے قابل ذکر خطوں میں سے ایک ہے۔ یہ 72,971 مربع کلومیٹر کے رقبے پر مشتمل ہے۔ اس کی تخمینہ لگ بھگ آبادی 1,000,000 ہے۔ یہ وہ جگہ ہے جہاں تین طاقتور پہاڑ آپس میں ملتے ہیں۔ دنیا کی کچھ بلند ترین چوٹیاں جیسے نانگا پربت (8126m) اور راکاپوشی (7788ایم) بھی یہاں واقع ہیں۔ پورا گلگت بلتستان کوہ پیماؤں، کوہ پیماؤں، سیاحوں، پیدل سفر کرنے والوں اور اینگلرز کے لیے جنت کی مانند ہے۔

گلگت پہنچنا

این اے ٹی سی او بسیں اور بہت سی دوسری نجی بسیں شاہراہ قراقرم کے ذریعے گلگت جانے کے لیے دستیاب ہیں۔ قراقرم ہائی وے پر کام جاری ہے جس سے علاقے کا دورہ کرنے میں آسانی ہوگی۔ گلگت جانے کے لیے ایئر لائن سروس بھی دستیاب ہے۔ گلگت اسلام آباد سے براہ راست اور اسکردو کے راستے ہوائی راستے سے جڑا ہوا ہے۔ شاہراہ قراقرم کے ذریعے اسلام آباد اور گلگت کے درمیان سڑک کے سفر میں تقریباً 24 گھنٹے لگتے ہیں، جب کہ ہوائی سفر میں صرف 45-50 منٹ لگتے ہیں۔

تاریخ

تاریخ میں گلگت روسی، برطانوی اور چینی علاقوں کے درمیان سیاسی اور عسکری دشمنیوں کی وجہ سے انتہائی اہمیت کا حامل رہا ہے۔ 1947 میں برصغیر میں برطانوی راج کے خاتمے کے فوراً بعد، اس علاقے کے لوگوں نے کشمیر کے مہاراجہ کی حکومت کے خلاف ایک مقبول مقامی جنگ میں پاکستان کے ساتھ ہاتھ ملانے کا فیصلہ کیا۔

1970 میں گلگت 79000 مربع کلومیٹر شمالی علاقہ جات کے لیے واحد انتظامی بن گیا، قراقرم ہائی وے کا مرکز جس میں معلومات، ٹرانسپورٹ ہوٹل اور ریستوراں اور بہت سی دیگر سہولیات موجود ہیں۔ شاہراہ قراقرم کے ذریعے انہیں عام سیاحوں کے لیے کھول دیا گیا ہے۔ اس خطے میں سیاحتی سہولیات تیار کی جا رہی ہیں تاکہ نہ صرف پُرجوش بلکہ آرام دہ بھی ہوں۔

گلگت بلتستان کی مادری زبانیں شینا، بلتی، کھوار اور بروشاسکی ہیں۔ شینا گلگت، ضلع کی مرکزی زبان ہے۔

گلگت شہر کی شرح خواندگی گلگت بلتستان کے دیگر اضلاع سے نسبتاً زیادہ ہے۔ یہ پرائمری تعلیم کی سطح سے لے کر اعلیٰ ثانوی تعلیم تک بڑی تعداد میں تعلیمی اداروں پر مشتمل ہے۔ کچھ مشہور کالجوں میں ایف جی ڈگری کالج جوٹیال، ایف جی ڈگری کالج برائے خواتین، آرمی پبلک سکول اینڈ کالج، پبلک سکول اینڈ کالجز جوٹیال، آغا خان ایجوکیشن سروسز، اور آغا خان سکول فار بوائز شامل ہیں۔ قراقرم انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی حال ہی میں گریجویٹ اور پوسٹ گریجویٹ پروگراموں کے لیے قائم کی گئی ہے۔

آب و ہوا

گلگت کا غالب موسم سردیوں کا ہے جو سالانہ آٹھ سے نو ماہ تک رہتا ہے۔ گلگت میں بارش کی اوسط مقدار 120 سے 240 ملی میٹر ہے جو کہ کافی کم ہے۔ یہ ہمالیہ کے جنوبی رینج کے خلاف بارش میں رکاوٹوں کی وجہ سے ہے۔ زمینی زراعت کے لیے آبپاشی دریاؤں سے حاصل کی جاتی ہے، جو بلندیوں سے پگھلتے ہوئے برف کے پانی سے مالا مال ہے۔

گرمیوں کا موسم مختصر اور گرم ہوتا ہے۔ سورج کی تیز شعاعوں سے درجہ حرارت 40 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ تک بڑھ سکتا ہے۔ پھر بھی یہ سایہ دار علاقوں میں ہمیشہ ٹھنڈا رہتا ہے۔ آب و ہوا کی اس انتہا کے نتیجے میں اس علاقے میں تودے گرنے اور سیلاب کے واقعات اکثر ہوتے رہتے ہیں۔

سیاحوں کے لیے گلگت آنے کا موزوں وقت مئی سے ستمبر ہے۔

کریم آباد

یہ گلگت سے 112 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ہے۔ جیپ کے ذریعے گلگت جانے میں 3 گھنٹے لگتے ہیں۔ کریم آباد خوبصورت وادی ہنزہ کا دارالحکومت ہے جس میں چھت والے کھیت، پھلوں کے باغات، راکاپوشی، التر اور بالیمو کی چوٹیوں کے خوبصورت نظارے ہیں۔

نگر

نگر گلگت سے 120 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر واقع ہے اور جیپ کے ذریعے 4 گھنٹے میں قابل رسائی ہے۔ یہ خطہ گلگت کی سب سے زیادہ زرخیز وادی ہے۔ یہ اپنی شاندار خوبصورتی، پھلوں کی کثرت اور راکاپوشی اور قراقرم سلسلے کی دیگر شاندار چوٹیوں کے دلکش نظاروں کے لیے مشہور ہے۔

رامو

گلگت سے فاصلہ 117 کلومیٹر ہے اور جیپ کے ذریعے 6 گھنٹے کی ڈرائیو ہے۔ یہ جھیل اپنی جھیل کے لیے مشہور ہے جو نانگا پربت کے مشرق کا حیرت انگیز نظارہ پیش کرتی ہے۔

شیر قلعہ

گلگت سے اس کا فاصلہ 38 کلومیٹر ہے۔ یہ ایک ٹریکنگ راستہ ہے جو وادی نلتر سے ملتا ہے۔ یہاں شیر قلعہ نالہ اور ایک چھوٹی جھیل میں ٹراؤٹ ماہی گیری کا لطف اٹھایا جا سکتا ہے۔

چینی قبرستان

تاریخ

اگست 2011 میں، پیپلز لبریشن آرمی کے ریٹائرڈ فوجیوں، نامہ نگاروں اور ایک کارکن کے رشتہ داروں پر مشتمل ایک چینی وفد نے ہلاک ہونے والے کارکنوں کو خراج عقیدت پیش کرنے کے لیے قبرستان کا دورہ کیا۔ اس دورے کو چینی میڈیا میں بڑے پیمانے پر بے نقاب کیا گیا۔

اپریل 2013 میں قبرستان میں ایک تقریب منعقد ہوئی جس میں اہم پاکستانی اور چینی افسران نے شرکت کی جس میں چینی سفارت خانے کے قونصلر ژانگ لیان یو، چائنا روڈ اینڈ برج کارپوریشن کے حکام، گلگت بلتستان جوڈیشل اسمبلی کے اراکین اور پاکستانیوں نے شرکت کی۔ قانون نافذ کرنے والے عملے. تقریب کے دوران سپرد خاک کرنے والوں کو خراج عقیدت پیش کیا گیا اور چینی حکومت کی جانب سے قبرستان کی تجدید کے لیے اقدام اٹھایا گیا۔ تقریب میں موجود پاکستانی حکام نے چینی کارکنوں کے تعاون کو پرانے چین پاکستان دو طرفہ تعلقات کی علامت کے طور پر سراہا۔

قبرستان میں منعقدہ تقریب میں ژانگ لیان یو اور گلگت بلتستان اسمبلی کے سپیکر وزیر بیگ نے نئے قبرستان کا سنگ بنیاد رکھا جسے چینی حکام نے اپنے کارکنوں کی قربانیوں کے قابل سمجھا۔ دونوں اہلکاروں نے چینی کارکنوں کی قبروں پر پھول بھی چڑھائے۔

مقام اور فاصلہ

چینی قبرستان مقامی طور پر چائنہ یادگار کے نام سے مشہور ہے، ایک چینی قبرستان ہے جو پاکستان کے شمالی علاقے گلگت بلتستان کے دارالحکومت گلگت میں واقع ہے۔ یہ ضلع گلگت کے گاؤں دنیور میں واقع ہے جو دریائے گلگت کے اس پار تقریباً 10 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ہے۔ یہ قبرستان 1960 اور 1970 کی دہائیوں میں پاکستان میں شاہراہ قراقرم کی تعمیر کے دوران ہلاک ہونے والے چینی کارکنوں اور انجینئروں کی آخری آرام گاہ ہے۔ یہ قبرستان 1970 کی دہائی کے اوائل میں بنایا گیا تھا۔ قبروں کے اوپر رکھے گئے مقبروں میں چینی فونٹس میں کندہ کاری ہے۔

نلتر

وادی نلتر گلگت بلتستان میں گلگت اور ہنزہ کے قریب واقع ہے۔ یہ گلگت سے 40 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ہے اور 2 گھنٹے میں جیپ کے ذریعے اس تک رسائی حاصل کی جا سکتی ہے۔ نلتر ایک جنگلاتی گاؤں ہے جو اپنے جنگلی حیات اور شاندار پہاڑی مناظر کے لیے مشہور ہے۔ اسکی لفٹیں ’اسکائی فیڈریشن آف پاکستان‘ کے تحت ہیں۔ گلگت سے نلتر تک ٹرانسپورٹ دستیاب ہے دن کی مخصوص مدت میں دستیاب ہے ورنہ نہیں۔ نلتر میں ’پاکستان ایئر فورس‘ کا بیس کیمپ ہے۔ آرمی کا سکی ٹریننگ انسٹی ٹیوٹ بھی ہے۔ پی اے ایف کے زیر انتظام وہاں سکی مقابلے بھی منعقد ہوتے ہیں۔

تاریخ

نلتر گلگت ایجنسی کا پہاڑی مقام تھا، جہاں گرمی کی شدت میں اضافہ ہونے پر برطانوی منتظمین پیچھے ہٹ گئے۔

تعلیم

نلتر میں شرح خواندگی بہت کم ہے۔ ایک گورنمنٹ ہائی سکول اور ایک این ایل آئی پبلک سکول نلتر بالا میں واقع ہے اور لڑکیوں کے لیے ایک مڈل سکول زیر تعمیر ہے۔

سیاحوں کی کشش

ان لوگوں کے لیے جو ایڈونچر پسند کرتے ہیں، نلتر شاید پاکستان کے سب سے زیادہ قابل ذکر دوروں میں سے ایک ہے۔ نلتر بالا میں آپ اکثر دلکش مرغزاروں کو دیکھتے ہیں اور درجہ حرارت بھی بہت اچھا ہے، اس لیے گلگت کی جابرانہ گرمی سے بچ سکتے ہیں۔

نلتر بالا اور نلتر پائن وادی نلتر کے دو گاؤں ہیں۔ نلتر پائین 34 کلومیٹر اور نلتر بالا گلگت سے 40 کلومیٹر دور ہے۔ وادی نلتر اور گلگت کے درمیان ایک اہم گاؤں بھی ہے جسے نومل کے نام سے جانا جاتا ہے۔ نومل سے ایک سڑک ’دی سلک روٹ‘ کو چین سے جوڑتی ہے۔ گلگت سے نلتر پائین تک سڑک نلتر پائین سے نلتر بالا تک راستے میں دونوں دھاتی اور نان میٹلڈ ہے۔ نلتر بالا سے نلتر جھیل اور دیودار کے گھنے جنگلات کی طرف خراب جیپ روڈ پر 12 کلومیٹر کا پیدل سفر ہے۔ ٹور گائیڈ کی ضرورت نہیں ہے۔ اس سے آگے مزید چراگاہیں اور موسم گرما کی بستیاں ہیں۔

بشکری جھیل

وادی نلتر میں ایک جھیل ہے جسے ‘بشکری جھیل’ کہا جاتا ہے جو نلتر بالا سے 32 کلومیٹر دور ہے۔ جھیل گرمیوں اور سردیوں دونوں میں ایک دم توڑنے والا اور حیرت انگیز نظارہ پیش کرتی ہے۔ گاؤں کے ساتھ جھیل تک کی سڑک پہاڑوں سے آنے والی اس سڑک میں ندی کے ساتھ غیر دھاتی اور تنگ ہے۔ اس سڑک پر بہت سے خوبصورت مناظر ہیں۔

غذر ضلع

‘ضلع غذر پاکستان کے شمالی علاقہ جات کے زیادہ تر شمالی حصے پر محیط ہے۔ غذر ضلع کا دارالحکومت ایک چھوٹا سا قصبہ ہے جس کا نام گکوچ ہے۔ غذر ضلع گلگت اور چترال ضلع کو شندور پاس کے ذریعے ملاتا ہے۔ غذر وسطی ایشیا کا دروازہ ہے اور تاجکستان کا مختصر راستہ بھی۔ غذر کا ایک قابل ذکر دلکش خوبصورتی ہے۔ مئی سے اکتوبر کے وسط تک کا موسم ان علاقوں کا دورہ کرنے کا بہترین وقت ہے۔

غذر ضلع کے چند اہم مقامات درج ذیل ہیں

کارگاہ نالہ

گلگت سے تقریباً 6 میل دور پنیال روڈ کے ساتھ ایک قدیم نالہ گزرتا ہے جسے کارگاہ نالہ کہا جاتا ہے۔ کارگاہ نالہ سال بھر چلنے والے صاف پانی اور پر سکون خوبصورتی کے لیے مشہور ہے۔ اس وادی میں بدھ کا ایک خوبصورت پتھر کندہ ڈیزائن ہے جو اس علاقے کا اہم اور بہت مشہور مقام ہے۔ خیال کیا جاتا ہے کہ یہ چٹان 7ویں صدی عیسوی میں کھدی ہوئی تھی اور اسے مقامی لوگوں نے 1938-1939 میں دریافت کیا تھا۔ اس بدھ کے بارے میں مقامی لوک کہانیاں بتاتی ہیں کہ کارگاہ نالہ میں رہنے والے ایک شخص نے یخسنی نامی ایک جارح کو کھا لیا تھا۔

قابل رسائی

کارگاہ نالہ جانے کے لیے گلگت شہر سے جیپ لے جا سکتے ہیں۔ جو لوگ پیدل سفر کرنا پسند کرتے ہیں اور فطرت سے محبت کرنے والے ہیں وہ اس وادی میں ایک دن کی سیر کر سکتے ہیں اور فطرت سے لطف اندوز ہو سکتے ہیں کیونکہ یہ وادی ہریالی سے بھری ہوئی ہے جو ایک خوشگوار چہل قدمی کرتی ہے۔

دریائے گلگت

دریائے گلگت دریائے سندھ کی شاخ ہے۔ دریائے گلگت پاکستان کے متنازعہ کشمیر کے شمالی علاقہ جات میں واقع ہے۔

دریائے گلگت کا منبع گلگت کے مغرب میں شندور درہ ہے۔ اس مقام سے پانی شمال کی طرف بہتا ہے اور مختلف دیگر ندیاں آپس میں مل کر چھشی کے قریب دریا کی شکل اختیار کر لیتی ہیں۔ اس کے بعد یہ دریا گلگت کے جنوب مشرق میں گوپیس کے قریب دریائے اشکومان سے جا ملتا ہے۔ دریائے اشکومان، ملازمین کے ہندوکش رینج میں گلگت کے شمال مغربی حاشیے سے بہت سی دیگر چھوٹی ندیوں کو ملاتا ہے۔ دریا پھر جنوب کی طرف بہتا ہے جہاں سے یہ چترکھنڈ سے گزرتا ہے اور گاہک کے قریب دریائے غذر سے مل جاتا ہے۔ اسی مقام سے اس دریا کا نام گلگت ہے جو گلگت شہر تک پہنچنے سے پہلے شیر قلعہ کو عبور کرتا ہے۔ یہاں دریائے ہنزہ بھی شمال سے دریائے گلگت سے ملتا ہے۔ اس کے بعد دریائے گلگت بونجی کے قریب دریائے سندھ میں شامل ہونے سے پہلے کچھ اور کلومیٹر بہتا ہے۔ دریائے گلگت کا کل راستہ تقریباً 150 میل (240 کلومیٹر) ہے۔

گاکوچ

گلگت سے تقریباً 72 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ایک چھوٹی سی جگہ ہے جسے گکوچ کہا جاتا ہے۔ گکوچ گلگت بلتستان میں واقع ضلع غذر کا صدر مقام ہے۔ گاکوچ کی آبادی بہت کم ہے، تقریباً 7909۔ گاکوچ شہر چائنا برج سے شروع ہوتا ہے جو وادی اشکومان کی طرف جاتا ہے اور اسی وادی تک ایک توسیعی پل پر ختم ہوتا ہے۔ گکوچ پہاڑوں اور ہریالی سے گھرا ہوا ہے جو اس کی خوبصورتی میں اضافہ کرتا ہے۔ لوگ عموماً گکوچ میں کھوار بولتے ہیں۔ دریائے گلگت شہر کے وسط سے گزرتا ہے۔ گاکوچ کے نقطہ نظر میں ایک وادی شامل ہے جسے گاکوچ بالا کے نام سے جانا جاتا ہے۔ گاکوچ میں پہاڑ پر چڑھنے، پیدل سفر اور نظارے کے لیے ہمیشہ جا سکتے ہیں۔ قریب ترین پہاڑی چوٹیاں ہیں

موسم سارا سال خوشگوار رہتا ہے لیکن مئی کے مہینے میں اکتوبر سے لے کر گاکوچ کا دورہ کرنا بہتر ہے۔

رہائش

چند اچھے ہوٹلوں کے ساتھ ساتھ گیسٹ ہاؤسز بھی وہاں دستیاب ہیں۔ سب سے مشہور اور انتہائی پسندیدہ ہوٹل میں سے ایک ہوٹل گرین پیلس ہے۔ ہوٹل گرین پیلس گلگت ایئرپورٹ سے تقریباً 80 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر واقع ہے۔ یہ اس علاقے کا واحد اچھی طرح سے آراستہ ہوٹل ہے جو کارپوریٹ، تفریحی اور غیر ملکی سیاحوں کے لیے بہترین انتخاب ہے۔

گلگت کے مغرب میں تقریباً 112 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر دریائے گلگت کے کنارے ایک چھوٹا سا چھوٹا سا قصبہ گوپیس کے نام سے جانا جاتا ہے۔ گاکوچ سے گوپیس صرف 40 کلومیٹر دور ہے۔ وادی گوپیس اپنی شاندار قدرتی خوبصورتی کے لیے مشہور ہے۔ گاکوچ سے گوپیس تک، وادی شاندار مناظر اور دلکش نظاروں سے بھری ہوئی ہے۔ وادی گوپیس میں سیاحوں کے بہت سے مشہور مقامات ہیں جیسے کہ گوپس کا قلعہ، پتھروں کے حلقے، میگالتھس، شنگلوٹ گاؤں، خلتی جھیل وغیرہ۔ گوپس میں، آپ وادی میں بہت سی مکئی اور پھل خاص طور پر سیب اگتے دیکھ سکتے ہیں۔

گوپیس قلعہ

وادی گوپس نہ صرف اپنی قدرتی خوبصورتی بلکہ وہاں موجود تاریخی ڈھانچے کی وجہ سے بھی مشہور ہے۔ ان میں سے ایک مشہور گوپی قلعہ ہے۔ گوپس قلعہ کو برطانوی سلطنت نے 1805 میں تعمیر کیا تھا۔ قلعہ میں چند تاریک سیل بنائے گئے ہیں جہاں برطانوی افسران اپنے قیدیوں کو سزا کے طور پر چھوڑا کرتے تھے۔ فی الحال یہ قلعہ ناردرن لائٹ انفنٹری (این ایل آئی) کی تحویل میں ہے۔ اس وقت قلعہ انتہائی خستہ حالت میں ہے اور اسے بحال کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔

میگالتھس کے پتھر

قریبی وادی گوپیس میں میگالتھس کے کچھ پتھر اب بھی اچھی حالت میں کھڑے ہیں۔ کہا جاتا ہے کہ یہ میگالتھ دوسری صدی میں پروان چڑھے تھے اور یہ گوپس اور اشکومان وادی کے مختلف علاقوں میں واقع ہیں۔

خلتی جھیل

گوپیس سے تقریباً 20-30 منٹ کی مسافت پر ایک خوبصورت جھیل واقع ہے جسے خلتی جھیل کہا جاتا ہے۔ خلتی جھیل تقریباً 25 سال قبل پہاڑوں کے پھٹنے کے نتیجے میں ایک بڑے سیلاب کے نتیجے میں بنی تھی۔ خلتی جھیل ٹراؤٹ مچھلیوں کی آماجگاہ ہونے کی وجہ سے مشہور ہے۔

خلتی جھیل عام طور پر سردیوں میں جم جاتی ہے۔ دیہاتی، سردیوں میں، جمی ہوئی جھیل پر چہل قدمی کرتے ہیں اور بعض اوقات جمی ہوئی جھیل پر مختلف کھیل بھی کھیلتے ہیں۔

رہائش

گپیس کی چھوٹی سی بستی میں آرام دہ کمروں کے ساتھ ایک اچھی طرح سے لیس ہوٹل واقع ہے جسے گپیس پی ٹی ڈی سی کے نام سے جانا جاتا ہے۔ گوپیس پی ٹی ڈی سی درحقیقت گوپیس ولیج کے باہر برف کے ٹھنڈے مورین رج پر بنایا گیا ہے۔ اپنی شاندار جگہ کی وجہ سے، گپیس پی ٹی ڈی سی مشرق میں بہتی ہوئی گلگت دریا کی وادی کے ساتھ ساتھ مغرب میں موجود خوبصورت جھیل کا بہت اچھا منظر پیش کرتا ہے۔

گپیوں تک سڑک کے ذریعے پہنچا جا سکتا ہے۔

وادی پھنڈر

وادی پھنڈر ضلع غذر کی سب سے پرکشش اور نمایاں جگہوں میں سے ایک ہے۔ وادی پھنڈر اپنی انتہائی دلکش وادی، گہری نیلی جھیل اور گاؤں سے گزرنے والی دریائے غذر کے لیے مشہور ہے۔ پھنڈر وادی کو عام طور پر ‘چھوٹا کشمیر’ بھی کہا جاتا ہے کیونکہ سرسبز و شاداب چوڑے کھیتوں، گاؤں میں بہتی ندی اور دلکش مناظر کی وجہ سے۔ وادی پھنڈر وادی گوپس سے تقریباً 61 کلومیٹر اور گلگت شہر سے تقریباً 163 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ہے۔

وادی پھنڈر کا سب سے پرکشش سیاحتی مقام شاندار پھندر جھیل ہے۔ وادی کے مشرقی سرے پر گہری نیلی جھیل جس میں کرسٹل صاف پانی، ہریالی، درخت اور پتھریلے نیز برف سے ڈھکے پہاڑ ایک شاندار منظر پیش کرتے ہیں جو فطرت کو اس کی اصل شکل میں پسند کرتا ہے۔ مختصر یہ کہ پھنڈر جھیل تمام رنگوں سے بھری ہوئی ہے۔ جھیل کا کل رقبہ تقریباً 3 کلومیٹر ہے۔

وادی پھنڈر کے مقامی لوگ فطرتاً بہت سخی، سادہ اور خوش آئند ہیں۔ دیہاتی جو زبان بولتے ہیں وہ کھوار ہے۔ پھنڈر پھندر خاص میں گلگمولی اور ہندراپ وادیاں بھی موجود ہیں اور شمال کی سب سے چوڑی وادی کے طور پر جانی جاتی ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ وادی پھنڈر بھی دریائے گلگت کے کنارے ٹراؤٹ ماہی گیری کے لیے بہت مشہور ہے۔

رہائش

سیاحوں کی سہولت کے لیے وادی میں متعدد پی ٹی ڈی سی موٹل اور ریسٹ ہاؤسز موجود ہیں۔ تاہم، ان موٹلز میں شندور گیسٹ ہاؤس اور ولی ہوٹل اس خطے کے سب سے مشہور ہوٹل ہیں۔

وادی پھنڈر جانے کا بہترین وقت جون اور جولائی کا مہینہ ہے۔

قابل رسائی

وادی پھنڈر تک چترال کے ساتھ ساتھ گلگت سے بھی آسانی سے رسائی حاصل ہے۔ گلگت سے وادی پھنڈر تک پہنچنے میں تقریباً 5 سے 6 گھنٹے لگتے ہیں۔

اسلام آباد سے وادی پھنڈر کا کل فاصلہ 671 کلومیٹر ہے۔

ہنڈاراپ وادی

وادی پھنڈر کے مغرب میں ایک چھوٹی لیکن خوبصورت وادی ہے جسے ہنڈاراپ ویلی کہتے ہیں۔ وادی ہندراپ دریائے ہندراپ اور دریائے شندور کے درمیان واقع ہے۔ وادی ہندراپ اپنی جھیل کے لیے بھی مشہور ہے اور اسے ٹراؤٹ ماہی گیری کے لیے جنت بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔ وادی ہندراپ گلگت سے تقریباً 190 کلومیٹر اور گاہک سے تقریباً 118 کلومیٹر دور ہے۔ اس کی بلندی 10800 فٹ ہے۔ دادریلی پاس سے جنوب کی طرف ٹریکنگ کے ذریعے ہنڈاراپ جھیل تک پہنچا جا سکتا ہے۔’

وادی یاسین

یاسین وادی کو “بابے-یاسین” یا “ورشیگم” کے نام سے بھی جانا جاتا ہے ، گلگت بلتستان کے ضلع غیزر کے شمال مغرب میں واقع ہے۔ یاسین ویلی ہندوکش رینج پہاڑوں کی ایک اونچی پہاڑی وادی میں سے ایک ہے۔ وادی کی اہم وادی کے علاوہ ، اس میں کچھ دیگر سائیڈ ویلیز یعنی تھاؤس ، ہنڈور ، اسبر ، سندھی ، ڈارکٹ وغیرہ کا بھی حساب لیا جاتا ہے۔

یاسین ویلی بھی ایک قابل ذکر قدرتی نظارے پیش کرتی ہے اور یہ ضلع غیزر کی سب سے متاثر کن وادی میں سے ایک ہے۔ یاسین ویلی گلگت سے تقریبا 161 کلومیٹر اور گوکوچ سے 62 کلومیٹر دور ہے۔ یاسین ویلی نسبتا خشک اور پتھر کے دروازے پر ہے لیکن ایک بار جب آپ دملگن اور گندائی میں تصفیہ کرلیتے ہیں تو آپ ہریالی دیکھ سکتے ہیں۔ یاسین ویلی نہ صرف اپنے خوبصورت دیہات ، کھیتوں ، باغات اور خوبصورت خوبصورتی کے لئے مشہور ہے بلکہ یہ ایڈونچر سے محبت کرنے والے لوگوں کے لئے ٹریکنگ کے بہترین اختیارات بھی پیش کرتی ہے۔ ٹریکنگ آپشن میں شامل ہیں

وادی کے مقامی لوگوں کو یشکن کہا جاتا ہے اور وہ خود کو بروشو بھی کہتے ہیں۔ ان میں سے زیادہ تر اسماعیلی مسلمان ہیں جو بروشاسکی بولتے ہیں۔ بورشکی ، شینا ، واکھی ، ترک اور فارسی زبان کے علاوہ بھی بڑھاپے کے لوگوں کے ذریعہ بولی جانے کا مشاہدہ کیا گیا ہے۔ لیکن اب ایک دن زیادہ تر لوگ بروشاسکی اور کھاور بولتے ہیں۔

وادی ایشکومن نے ہمالیہ کو کاراکورام رینج سے الگ کیا۔ گلگت کے شمال مغرب میں وادی ایشکومن تقریبا 129 کلومیٹر دور ہے۔ گکچ سے وادی ایشکومن پہنچنے میں 65 کلومیٹر کا وقت لگتا ہے۔ وادی ایشکومن الپائن چراگاہوں ، بہت بڑے گلیشیروں اور خوبصورت بارہماسی ندیوں سے بھری ہوئی بے پناہ قدرتی خوبصورتی کے لئے مشہور ہے۔ ایشکومن ویلی نے غزر ڈسٹرکٹ کو نالٹر ​​، ڈارکٹ ، اسبر اور چپسن سے جوڑ دیا۔

شینڈور ٹاپ

شندور ٹاپ، سطح سمندر سے تقریباً 38000 میٹر (12,500 فٹ) کی بلندی پر واقع ہے جسے دنیا کی چھت بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔ شندور ٹاپ پاکستان کے ضلع غذر میں واقع ہے۔ یہ گلگت سے تقریباً 197 کلومیٹر اور چترال سے تقریباً 147 کلومیٹر دور ہے۔ شندور ٹاپ تک کا راستہ پتھریلا ہے اور بعض اوقات پہاڑوں کی طرف جانے والی جیپ ٹریک پرخطر ہے۔ چترال جانے سے پہلے یہ آخر کار شندور درہ عبور کرتا ہے۔

شندور ٹاپ ایک ہموار بتدریج مائل مرتفع ہے جو گلگت کو چترال سے ملاتا ہے۔

شندور بنیادی طور پر دنیا کے بلند ترین پولو گراؤنڈ میں سے ایک کے لیے مشہور ہے۔ ہر سال، ملک بھر سے بہت سے زائرین 1936 سے ہر سال 7 سے 9 جولائی تک منعقد ہونے والے روایتی پولو ٹورنامنٹ سے لطف اندوز ہونے کے لیے شندور آتے ہیں۔ یہ ٹورنامنٹ عام طور پر چترال اور گلگت کی ٹیموں کے درمیان ہوتا ہے۔
